Media Relations Lead, Pasig

Job Summary:

Reporting directly to the Co-Founder & CEO, the Media Relations Lead is responsible for cultivating, managing, and deepening relationships with members of the press, especially those who have a critical role in sensitive or crisis scenarios.

The Media Relations Lead shall manage the Media Relations team, overseeing the delivery of media relations services to the internal client servicing teams and their clients. He will also lead a team of media relations associates for the delivery of services.

Responsibilities:

CLIENT SERVICING

• Lead the client servicing teams in the delivery of media relations requirements of clients
• Coordinates and regularly updates client servicing teams relating to their media relations efforts or initiatives for specific accounts or accounts
• Provides advice to client servicing unites on proper media positioning of messages or stories considering the clients communication objectives
• Provides useful insights to the client servicing teams related to the target medias profiles, interests, and needs
• Able to lead the team in developing story angles and media pitches
• Attends client meetings, as needed

MEDIA RELATIONS

• Actively finds opportunities to connect and deepen relations with media units and contacts for future client or agency requirements
• Coordinates and ensures the accurate and timely release of press kits, press releases, media invites, press statements, and other media materials, and conducts follow up activities as necessary
• Seeds press releases/kits and invites target media contacts to clients events or other appropriate engagement activities through media rounds, emails, or other acceptable communication channels
• Answers enquiries from media through emails, mobile phone, etc.
• Attends clients events or engagement activities to manage media contacts
• Monitors media coverages such as print, radio, and broadcast pickups, blogs, etc., relating to the client, its brands, competitors, and its industry
• Regularly collates and submits media monitoring reports to the client servicing units
• Maintains and updates a database of media contacts from various beats and media organizations for future client or agency use

• Guide and develop Executives and Managers to strengthen their skills and performance
• Drive ongoing enhancements in media relations services, workflows, and team productivity
• Build a supportive and high-achieving culture that encourages innovation and collaboration
