The Skilled Welder is responsible for performing welding, fabrication, and metal repair works required for the construction, maintenance, and improvement of company facilities, equipment, and structures. The role involves interpreting technical drawings, preparing materials, and ensuring that all welding works are completed according to quality standards and safety regulations.

The Skilled Welder must have strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with different types of metals and welding equipment to produce durable and high-quality welds.

Welding and Fabrication

• Perform welding tasks using various welding techniques such as Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), or other applicable welding processes.
• Fabricate metal structures, frames, and equipment parts according to specifications.
• Cut, shape, and assemble metal components using appropriate welding tools and equipment.

Repair and Maintenance

• Repair damaged metal structures, machinery parts, and equipment through welding.
• Conduct routine inspection of welded structures and identify possible defects or weaknesses.
• Perform maintenance and strengthening of metal frameworks, pipes, and support structures.

Technical Work

• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding plans.
• Measure, cut, and prepare materials accurately before welding.
• Ensure proper alignment and fitting of metal components before performing welding tasks.

Safety Compliance

• Follow all workplace safety policies and procedures while performing welding operations.
• Use proper personal protective equipment (PPE) such as welding helmets, gloves, and protective clothing.

Equipment Handling

• Operate and maintain welding machines, grinders, cutting torches, and other fabrication tools.
• Ensure proper care and maintenance of welding equipment.

Coordination

• Coordinate with maintenance personnel, supervisors, and other workers regarding welding and fabrication requirements.
• Assist in other maintenance or construction-related tasks when necessary.

• At least High School Graduate.
• With TESDA Welding Certificate or equivalent welding certification.
• At least 23 years of experience as a welder or in metal fabrication.
• Knowledge of different welding techniques, metal properties, and fabrication processes.
• Ability to read and understand basic welding drawings and measurements.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Work may involve exposure to heat, sparks, noise, and heavy equipment.
• May require lifting heavy materials and working in different environments such as construction sites, workshops, or outdoor areas.
