Custom Software Engineer - C++ - Hybrid, Taguig

Job description:

• Incident & Problem Management: Take ownership of critical production issues, performing deep-dive troubleshooting and root-cause analysis in live environments.
• Production Monitoring: Utilize tools like Splunk and Dynatrace to proactively monitor system health, create alerts, and minimize downtime.
• Technical Support: Maintain and debug applications written in C/C++ and manage database integrity using SQL/Embedded SQL.
• Automation & Scripting: Develop and maintain shell scripts (Bash, Python, KSH) to automate repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency.
• CI/CD Integration: Work within modern DevOps workflows using tools like Jenkins, Git, and GitHub to ensure stable deployments.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a technical liaison between Business Analysts, QA, and Infrastructure teams to drive end-to-end system quality.
• Documentation: Maintain rigorous records of incidents and resolutions using tools like ServiceNow.

Qualifications:

• Experience with developing applications in a Linux based environment.
• Solid experience in C/C++(3 years minimum),
• Experience in SQL/Embedded SQL
• Experience in Linux environment
• Solid experience in Linux scripting languages (python, bash, ksh)
• Experience with working with databases eg MSSQL, Informix, Oracle
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills in live production environments.
• Experience in production support and incident management.
• Proficiency in a programming language (Refer to Technical Skills)
• Solid experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Splunk, Dynatrace).

Good to have:

• Knowledge of SQL and experience working with relational databases.
• Familiarity with Linux-based systems and basic shell scripting.(Refer to Technical Skills)
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools and workflows (e.g., Jenkins, Git, GitHub, or Azure DevOps).
• Experience in incident management tools (e.g., ServiceNow)
• Understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and message queues
• Ability to work under pressure and handle critical production issues in real-time.
• Work closely with business analysts, QA, and infrastructure teams.
• Expert knowledge and understanding of software development design patterns, end-to-end system quality management and software lifecycle management methodologies
