We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk to support our accounting team. The role involves performing daily accounting tasks, maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with financial reporting, and supporting compliance requirements. The ideal candidate is meticulous, trustworthy, and able to handle confidential information.
Responsibilities:
Daily Accounting & Record Keeping
- Encode daily financial transactions into the accounting system
- Maintain ledgers, journals, and other financial records accurately
- Check and verify source documents such as invoices, receipts, and vouchers
Accounts Payable (AP)
- Process supplier invoices and verify accuracy
- Prepare payments and check disbursements
- Monitor due dates and maintain AP aging reports
Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Prepare and send invoices or billing statements
- Record collections and monitor outstanding receivables
- Follow up on overdue accounts when needed
Bank & Cash Handling
- Assist with daily cash monitoring
- Prepare bank deposit slips
- Reconcile bank statements with company records
Payroll Support (if applicable)
- Collect and encode timesheets
- Prepare payroll-related documents or reports
- Maintain employee payroll files
Financial Reporting Support
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities
- Prepare basic reports such as expense summaries and financial trackers
- Provide administrative support to accountants and supervisors
Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain organized filing of accounting documents
- Ensure all financial transactions follow company policies
- Assist during audits by providing required documents
Other Administrative Tasks
- Answer accounting-related inquiries
- Assist in inventory counts or related reconciliations
- Perform other tasks assigned by the accounting supervisor or manager
Qualifications:
- Graduate of Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Trustworthy and able to handle confidential information
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
