Description

Responsible for overseeing operations, coordinating activities, and ensuring the smooth functioning of a specific area within the steel manufacturing plant or production unit. This role is key to ensuring that production targets are met, quality standards are maintained, and safety regulations are followed. The Area Coordinator works closely with various teams (production, maintenance, quality, and safety) to optimize performance, resolve issues, and ensure continuous improvement in their assigned area of responsibility.

Responsibilities

1. Oversee daily production operations within a specific area of the plant, such as the rolling mill, furnace area, or finishing section.

2. Coordinate with production teams to ensure that production targets and deadlines are met according to the daily or weekly schedule. 3. Supervise and coordinate the activities of the production workforce, including operators, technicians, and laborers.

4. Ensure that workers are trained, properly assigned to tasks, and are working in accordance with established safety protocols.

5. Provide leadership and motivation to ensure team productivity and a high level of performance.

6. Monitor employee performance, provide feedback, and recommend corrective actions for any performance or attendance issues. 7. Implement and monitor safety training programs for workers, ensuring they are aware of safety practices, personal protective equipment (PPE) usage, and emergency procedures.

8. Investigate and report any workplace accidents or incidents, ensuring that all necessary documentation is completed. 9. Act as the point of contact for resolving any issues that arise in the assigned area, whether they are related to equipment malfunction, quality concerns, or personnel issues.

10. Quickly address and resolve production delays or other problems that may impact output or safety.

11. Implement solutions to prevent recurring problems by working with the relevant teams (e.g., engineering, quality control, maintenance).

Job Requirements

1.High school level/graduate or College 2.Willing to work on 12hrs shift schedule 3.Strong leadership abilities to manage and motivate teams in a high-pressure environment.

4. Able to resolve conflicts, manage employee performance, and promote a positive, productive team environment.

5. Experience in staff training, performance management, and dealing with workforce-related issues.

6. Capable of handling multiple tasks and ensuring that the team stays focused on achieving production goals.

7. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with workers, supervisors, and senior management.

8. Ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences (e.g., plant staff, safety teams, executives).

9. Proficiency in report writing, including documenting production data, safety incidents, and performance metrics.

10. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting, scheduling, and communication purposes.

11. Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, sometimes in hot or noisy conditions.

12. Ability to stay focused and make decisions under pressure, especially when resolving operational issues or meeting tight production deadlines.
