Description

We are looking for a meticulous and efficient Accounting Encoder to accurately process and input a high volume of financial data into our accounting system. The ideal candidate will have strong data entry skills, a keen eye for detail, and a fundamental understanding of accounting principles to ensure the integrity of our financial records.


Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately encode and input financial data, including invoices, payment vouchers, receipts, and other source documents, into the designated accounting software or database.
  • Verify the accuracy and completeness of source documents before and after data entry, ensuring proper authorization and adherence to company policies.
  • Classify and categorize transactions according to the established chart of accounts.
  • Maintain and organize physical and electronic files for easy retrieval and auditing purposes.
  • Perform regular data quality checks and reconciliations to identify and correct discrepancies or errors in the encoded data.
  • Assist the accounting team with general clerical tasks, document preparation, and report generation as needed.
Ensure all financial data is kept confidential and handled in compliance with privacy and security policies.



Qualifications and Skills


Required
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is a plus.
  • Experience: Proven experience (e.g., 1+ years) in data entry, encoding, or a relevant administrative role, preferably within an accounting department.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Exceptional speed and accuracy in data entry (typing/encoding).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with data entry procedures and relevant equipment (e.g., scanners, keyboards).
  • Knowledge: Basic understanding of accounting terminology and financial documents (e.g., invoices, debits/credits).
  • Personal Attributes:
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping abilities.
  • Ability to handle repetitive tasks with focus and efficiency.
  • Conscientious and reliable work ethic.
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
