Food Preparation & Distribution

• Follows food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations to prevent contamination and ensure patient safety.
• Assists cooks and dietitians in preparing meals according to dietary requirements for patients, staff, and visitors.
• Helps with assembling meal trays following portion control and special dietary needs requirements set by the Nutritionist Dietitian.
• Delivers prepared food trays to patient wards, adhering to hospital schedules.
• Ensures that meals are delivered in a timely and organized manner.
• Collects food trays every after meal.
• Ensures proper storage of food items to avoid waste and spoilage.
• Ensures that food items are stored safely and labeled according to expiration dates.

Kitchen Sanitation & Maintenance

• Cleans and sanitizes pots, pans, utensils, and other minor equipment routinely used in the kitchen following established procedures.
• Cleans and sanitizes dishes and related service ware following established procedures.
• Ensures the kitchen is clean, well maintained and organized at all times.
• Ensures floors are dry and clean at all times.
• Carries out general cleaning as directed to include sweeping, mopping up, washing up, emptying of trash bins and boxes.
• Washes and sanitizes kitchen equipment, utensils, and dishes.
• Properly disposes of waste and recyclables following hospital and health guidelines.
• Ensures waste bin area is kept clean and tidy.
• Ensures all equipment is clean and in good working condition.

ADMINISTRATIVE TASKS:

• Checks inventory of food and non food supplies and requests for supplies when needed
• If any breakages or broken items are found, removes them from circulation, reports to Immediate Head and updates the breakage and inventory register.
• Document and report any leftovers to the immediate supervisor for proper disposal.

• Promotes teamwork and collaboration among the staff within his/her department resulting to a harmonious working environment.
• Maintains commitment and responsibility for professional growth and competency by attending seminars, training, and programs of the institution towards maintaining and improving patients services.
• Complies with the institutional policy and guidelines on attending required seminars and trainings facilitated by various government agencies (e.g. DOH, DOLE, etc.), which are relevant to the delivery of safe and quality patient care.

OTHER PERTINENT FUNCTIONS AND TASKS:

• Participates in hospital activities and programs.
• Complies with the hospital policies and procedures. (Please refer to the Employee Handbook)
• Follows other necessary functions related to Hospital Administration as directed by the Management
• Performs other related duties and functions assigned by his/her superior
