JOB SUMMARY:

As an Inpatient Medical Coder you will join a dynamic team of coding experts dedicated to

delivering exceptional coding services to our valued clients. Your primary responsibility will be

accurately assigning medical codes, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and regulations.


DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reviews medical record documentation and accurately assigns appropriate ICD-10 diagnoses and ICD-10-PCS procedure codes, ensuring correct assignment of MS-DRG

(Medicare Severity Diagnosis Related Group) or APR-DRG (All Patient Refined Diagnosis Related Group)

Accurately abstracts required data based on facility specifications

Monitors and works on accounts that are Discharged Not Final Billed (DNFB), failed claims, and stop bills; collaborates with the team to ensure timely and compliant processing of inpatient accounts through the billing system

Ensures accuracy while maintaining established quality, productivity standards, and key

performance indicators for 3M 360 or eCAC

Stays up to date with current CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services)

requirements, CCI (Correct Coding Initiative) edits, Hospital Acquired Conditions

(HACs), and when applicable, NCDs (National Coverage Determinations) and LCDs

(Local Coverage Determinations), including the correct use of modifiers to ensure clean

claims on first submission


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field of Allied Medical courses.

Minimum of 3 years of recent academic hospital experience.

Must have at least 3 years of recent Epic and Solventum (3M) experience.

Active Certification: CCS, RHIT, or RHIA is required (CIC may be considered if all other experience requirements are met).

Strong domain knowledge in Coding Clinics.

Good exposure in ICD Guidelines and new born charts

Hands-on exposure to MS-DRG, APR-DRG, PCS, PDX sections, and CC/MCC sections.

Should have experience with a 3M or medical coding tool and be willing to take an online or onsite assessment

Must be able to work in-office Clark, Pampanga or Subic, Zambales Philippines
