Tax Compliance and GL Sr. Executive ensures a company meets tax laws by preparing returns, managing audits/inquiries, developing tax strategies, analyzing financial data for risks, manages the full-cycle accounting process, including month-end closing, journal entries, and account reconciliations , supervising staff, requiring strong accounting knowledge and liaison skills with tax authorities like BIR and internal teams for timely, accurate reporting and planning.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Tax Filing & Reporting: Processing, preparing and submitting tax documents to the government. It involves collecting financial information, calculating tax obligations, and
reporting earnings to ensure compliance with regulatory tax laws.
- Compliance Monitoring: Ensures the company meets the policies and procedures to identify compliance risk issues in their day-to-day operations and functions specifically in BIR requirements, tax mapping, alphalists and internal controls.
- Audit & Queries: Prepare and analyze audit reports by asking questions or expressing doubts about the genuineness, validity or accuracy of transactions or reports within the organization. Handles tax audits, investigations, and responds to notices/letters from tax authorities like BIR, LGUs.
- Tax Planning: Involves coordinating various financial strategies to minimize tax liabilities. Effective tax planning considers the timing of income, purchases, and expenditures to optimize financial outcomes. Assist in developing and implementing strategies to optimize tax positions and identify savings opportunities.
- Financial Analysis: Examining financial statements and other relevant data to assess the financial health and performance of the company. Analyze financial records to identify potential tax liabilities, risks, and ensure data accuracy.
- Reconciliation & Reporting: Reconcile tax and GL accounts, analyze financial statements for accuracy, and prepare financial reports.
- Team Management: Overseeing the whole tax and compliance team in ensuring smooth working relationships, collaborating to achieve specific organizational goals. Supervise, coach, and train junior tax and compliance team members.
- Liaison: Coordinates with external consultants, lawyers, and internal departments (Finance, Legal) while maximizing available tax benefits within legal standards.
- Process Improvement: Identify gaps in accounting processes, implement automation projects, and maintain compliance with internal accounting policies.
- Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
Educational Requirement: Bachelor's/College Degree in Finance/ Accountancy or equivalent
Work Experience: Minimum 6 years experience related to Tax and GL , preferably in
Semincon/Manufacturing
Technical Skills
Extensive knowledge of local tax laws and regulations (PFRS)
Proficiency in tax computations
Financial analysis
Tax database management.
Behavioral Skills
Demonstrates strong decision-making abilities, attention to detail, reliability and accountability in managing complex tax matters, vigilance and diligence in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and excellent communication skills to liaise with internal teams, external advisors, and tax authorities.
