Role Overview:

The Customer Declaration Supervisor leads the customs brokerage team to ensure all import and export declarations are processed accurately and in full compliance with national and international regulations. This role focuses on team management, high-level problem-solving, and maintaining relationships with customs authorities.

• Team Leadership: Oversee a team of coordinators, providing training on updated customs laws, HS (Harmonized System) classification, and internal software.
• Compliance Oversight: Conduct regular audits of filed declarations to ensure 100% accuracy in valuation, origin, and classification.
• Complex Problem Solving: Act as the point of escalation for difficult shipments, duty disputes, or customs inspections.
• Process Improvement: Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to reduce clearance times and minimize errors.
• Stakeholder Management: Liaise with Customs officials, Port Authorities, and high-value clients to ensure seamless operations.

• Experience: 5+ years in Customs Brokerage or Freight Forwarding, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of Incoterms 2020, HS Codes, Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), and local customs systems (e.g., ACE, ASYCUDA, or CargoWise).
• Certification: A licensed Customs Broker certification is highly preferred.
• Soft Skills: Strong leadership, analytical thinking, and the ability to work under high pressure.
