The Leasing Associate is the primary point of contact for prospective tenants and is responsible for showcasing JDN Realty Group properties. This role focuses on converting inquiries into signed leases, managing administrative documentation, and ensuring a high standard of tenant satisfaction. The ideal candidate blends real estate knowledge with a customer-centric approach to drive occupancy.
Complexity of Work:
The role is interactive and fast-paced, requiring a mix of outdoor property tours and indoor administrative work. While the role follows established company policies, the Associate must use independent judgment to prioritize leads and resolve minor tenant concerns during the negotiation phase.
Responsibilities:
Inquiry Management: Promptly respond to phone calls, emails, and walk-in inquiries regarding available units and leasing terms.
Property Showings: Conduct professional tours of the property, highlighting amenities, neighborhood benefits, and unit features to prospective tenants.
Tenant Screening: Assist in the processing of lease applications, including background checks, credit evaluations, and employment verification.
Lease Execution: Prepare lease agreements and move-in packages; ensure all documents are signed, and initial payments (deposits/advance rent) are collected.
Market Awareness: Monitor local competitors and market trends to provide feedback on pricing and promotional strategies.
Tenant Relations: Act as a liaison for new tenants during the move-in process to ensure a seamless transition and a positive first impression.
Reporting: Maintain an organized database of leads and current occupancy status for weekly management reviews.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors Degree in Real Estate Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
Experience: At least 2 years of experience in leasing, real estate sales, or property management.
Knowledge: Basic understanding of fair housing laws and local real estate regulations.

Technical & Hard Skills:
Real Estate Documentation: Familiarity with the standard clauses of lease agreements and local property laws.
Digital Literacy: Proficiency in Property Management Software (e.g., Yardi, AppFolio, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word).
Virtual Touring: Ability to use digital tools (Zoom, Matterport, or basic video editing) to conduct high-quality virtual property walkthroughs.
CRM Management: Experience using Customer Relationship Management tools to track and follow up with leads.
Soft Skills:
Persuasive Communication: Ability to articulate the value of a property clearly and professionally.
Active Listening: Identifying a prospects specific needs and matching them with the right unit or solution.
Attention to Detail: Precision in handling legal documents and financial records to avoid operational errors.
Organization: Ability to juggle multiple tours, follow-ups, and paperwork filings simultaneously.
