Executive Chef - is responsible for overseeing all food preparation and kitchen operations in a restaurant, hotel, resort, or catering business. They lead the culinary team and ensure that food quality, safety, and service standards are maintained.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Overseeing Kitchen Operations
- Manage daily kitchen activities and food preparation.
- Ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations.
- Menu Planning and Development
- Design and update menus.
- Create new recipes and food concepts.
- Ensure menu items are cost-effective and appealing to customers.
- Supervising Kitchen Staff
- Lead, train, and motivate chefs, cooks, and kitchen assistants.
- Assign duties and monitor staff performance.
- Maintaining Food Quality
- Ensure all dishes meet quality, taste, and presentation standards.
- Monitor portion control and consistency.
- Managing Inventory and Supplies
- Order food ingredients and kitchen supplies.
- Monitor stock levels and reduce waste.
- Controlling Costs and Budget
- Manage food and labor costs.
- Prepare and monitor kitchen budgets.
- Ensuring Food Safety and Sanitation
- Enforce health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
8. Ensuring Customer Satisfaction
- Address food-related concerns and complaints.
- Ensure guests receive high-quality meals and service.
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, Food Service Management, or a related field (preferred).
- Several years of experience as a executive chef or in a senior kitchen management position.
- Experience in menu planning, food costing, and inventory management.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary trends.
- Understanding of food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
- Knowledge of budgeting, cost control, and purchasing procedures.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Creativity in menu development and food presentation.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours when needed.
