Pastry Chef - is a specialized chef who focuses on preparing and creating desserts, pastries, breads, cakes, chocolates, and other baked goods. They are responsible for ensuring that baked products are delicious, visually appealing, and meet quality standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Create cakes, pastries, breads, cookies, pies, and other desserts.
• Follow recipes and ensure consistent quality.
• Design and test new dessert and pastry items.
• Update menus with creative and seasonal offerings.
• Decorate cakes, pastries, and desserts attractively.
• Ensure products meet presentation standards.
• Monitor the taste, texture, and appearance of baked goods.
• Ensure all products meet established quality standards.
• Monitor stock levels of ingredients and supplies.
• Order ingredients as needed and minimize waste.
• Follow health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
• Keep the pastry kitchen clean and organized.
• Guide pastry cooks, bakers, and assistants.
• Provide training on baking techniques and procedures.
• Organize daily baking activities.
• Ensure products are prepared and delivered on time.
• Monitor ingredient usage and food costs.

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

• Diploma or degree in Culinary Arts, Pastry Arts, Baking and Pastry Technology, or a related field (preferred).
• Formal training from a culinary or pastry school is an advantage.
• Previous experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role.
• Hands-on experience in baking, pastry preparation, and dessert production.
• Experience in hotels, restaurants, bakeries, resorts, or catering services is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of baking and pastry techniques.
• Familiarity with dessert preparation, cake decorating, and chocolate work.
• Understanding of food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards.
• Knowledge of inventory management and food costing.
• Excellent baking and pastry-making skills.
• Creativity and artistic ability for decorating desserts and cakes.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
