Job Title: Accounting Specialist / Bookkeeper

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Specialist to support daily accounting operations and maintain accurate financial records. The ideal candidate will be responsible for recording financial transactions, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling accounts, preparing reports, and assisting with month-end and year-end closing activities. This role requires strong analytical skills, accuracy, and the ability to handle confidential financial information with integrity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records and bookkeeping entries
  • Record daily financial transactions in the accounting system
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and on time
  • Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger
  • Reconcile bank statements, vendor accounts, and balance sheet accounts
  • Monitor cash flow and maintain updated financial ledgers
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
  • Prepare invoices, payment schedules, and expense reports
  • Track outstanding receivables and follow up on overdue accounts
  • Support payroll processing and related reconciliations, as needed
  • Assist in preparing financial statements, budgets, and audit schedules
  • Maintain organized accounting files and supporting documentation
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Respond to accounting inquiries from internal teams, vendors, and clients
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting and bookkeeping processes

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
  • Proven experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or finance operations
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with ERP systems is an advantage

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in bookkeeping or accounting is a plus
  • Experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations
  • Familiarity with payroll support, tax documentation, and audit preparation
