PURPOSE: Responsible for managing the procurement of raw materials, ingredients, and supplies necessary for production and operations within the food industry. This role involves coordinating with suppliers, maintaining inventory levels, ensuring timely delivery of goods, and supporting the overall efficiency of the supply chain.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Source and evaluate suppliers for quality, cost, and reliability.
2. Negotiate terms, prices, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
3. Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure favorable terms and supply continuity.
4. Coordinate with the Product Planning & Inventory Control Manager to forecast material needs and plan purchases accordingly.
5. Prepare and process purchase orders in a timely manner.
6. Ensure accurate and complete documentation for all procurement activities.
7. Track orders and manage any issues related to delays or discrepancies.
8. Address any quality issues or product returns with suppliers.
9. Maintain accurate records of purchase order, sales invoice, and supplier interactions.
10. Generate regular reports on procurement activities, inventory status, and supplier performance.
11. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
12. Stay updated on market trends and changes in food safety regulations.
13. Performs any other task to be given from time to time.
