Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Research and evaluate suppliers to identify the best options for cost, quality, and reliability.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery terms with vendors.
• Monitor inventory levels and place orders to maintain adequate stock.
• Analyze market trends and consumer demand to forecast purchasing needs.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
• Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., production, sales, finance) to align procurement with business goals.
• Proficiency in using ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) for procurement processes.
• Excellent command of MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis) and other MS Office applications

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field.
• 12 years of solid experience in procurement or purchasing.
• Direct experience as a buyer in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry, particularly with raw materials, packaging materials, or finished goods, is highly preferred.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
• Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• High level of integrity and strong ethical conduct.
• Certification in Purchasing or Supply Chain Management (e.g., CPSM, C.P.M.) is an advantage.
• Experience with international sourcing and import procedures.
• Willing to travel locally and internationally for food expos and product research.
