Accounting Specialist, Quezon City

Description

Lead day-to-day accounting functions, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, and month-end/year-end closings.
Develop and implement internal controls, financial policies, and procedures to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with local GAAP and international standards like IFRS.
Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and variance reports; present findings to senior leadership.
Manage and mentor a team of 5-10 accounting staff, conducting performance reviews, training, and succession planning.
Oversee tax filings, audits, and liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and banks.
Collaborate with other departments (e.g., operations, sales) to optimize cash flow, reduce costs, and support strategic initiatives.
Implement accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, or Xero) and automate processes for efficiency.
Stay updated on regulatory changes and industry best practices.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification required.
Minimum 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of Philippine tax laws, BIR regulations, and financial reporting standards.
Proficiency in MS Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables) and ERP/accounting systems.
Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills; ability to handle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
