The Director of Operations for Legal Ops and Case Management is responsible for overseeing the strategic and operational management of the Case Management and Legal Operations' processes, systems, and workflows. This role ensures efficiency, compliance, and scalability across legal operations, while driving innovation through technology and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement operational strategies for legal operations and case management aligned with organizational objectives
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize workflows, reduce errors, and enhance productivity
- Collaborate with senior leadership to forecast resource needs and budget planning
Operations Management
- Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and quality standards
- Establish and monitor KPIs to track operational success and identify areas for improvement
- Manage client and candidate escalations
Legal Services Oversight
- Oversee the end-to-end delivery of legal services, including petition preparation, document review, and management of legal inquiries
- Ensure timely and accurate responses to all client-related legal matters
- Maintain and monitor the accuracy and currency of all clients legal documentation to ensure compliance and operational integrity
Technology & Innovation
- Evaluate and implement legal technology solutions, including AI-driven tools for document review and workflow automation
- Partner with IT and legal teams to ensure data security and system integration
Team Leadership & Development
- Manage and mentor a team of legal operations professionals and case managers
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning
Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent legal degree preferred
- MBA or advanced degree in business/operations is a plus
Experience
- 10+ years in legal operations, case management, or related field
- Proven track record in process optimization and technology implementation
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and large-scale projects
Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proficiency in legal tech platforms
