Hospitality Management (Tertiary Level)

Position Title: Hospitality Management Instructor

Department: School of Hospitality and Tourism Management / General Education Cluster

Reporting To: Academic Head / Program Head

Employment Type: Full-Time / Part-Time


Responsibilities and Duties
  • Deliver engaging lectures, demonstrations, and practical learning activities aligned with CHED and institutional standards.
  • Design lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessment tools that meet desired student learning outcomes.
  • Facilitate experiential learning through simulations, case studies, industry practices, and hands-on activities.
  • Provide academic support, mentoring, and consultation hours for students.
  • Participate in faculty development programs, departmental meetings, and institutional events.
  • Contribute to curriculum enhancement, quality assurance, and monitoring of student performance.
  • Uphold classroom discipline, academic integrity, and professional ethics at all times.

I. Educational Qualifications
  • Must hold a Bachelors degree in Hospitality Management, Tourism, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related fields.
  • A Masters degree or graduate units in Hospitality/Tourism Management, Education, or related disciplines is an advantage.

II. Experience Level
  • With 03 years of teaching or industry experience in hospitality, tourism, or related fields.
  • Fresh graduates with strong academic background, industry exposure, and excellent communication skills are welcome to apply.

III. Skills and Competencies
  • Strong knowledge in Front Office, Housekeeping, Food and Beverage Service, Culinary Operations, Tourism Management, and Hospitality Marketing.
  • Proficiency in instructional design, outcomes-based education (OBE), and learning management systems (LMS).
  • Effective classroom management and student engagement strategies.
  • Ability to integrate industry-standard technology and digital tools in teaching.
  • Competence in research, critical thinking facilitation, and curriculum development.

IV. Working Conditions
  • Fast-paced, student-centered academic environment.
  • Collaborative culture with multi-disciplinary faculty members.
  • Teaching load may include laboratory classes, day and/or evening schedules depending on enrollment.
  • May be required to assist in academic-industry linkage activities such as internships, on-the-job training, and hotel/restaurant partnerships.
