Job Description: Physical Education Faculty

Position Title: Faculty Physical Education

Department: General Education Department

Reporting To: Program Head General Education / Academic Head

Employment Type: Full-Time


I. Position Overview

The Physical Education Faculty is responsible for promoting health, fitness, and physical literacy through engaging and inclusive instruction. The faculty will teach PE and related courses, emphasizing discipline, teamwork, and holistic student development in alignment with STIs educational standards and CHED outcomes-based education (OBE) framework.


IV. Key Responsibilities
  • Teach foundational PE subjects including Movement Enhancement, Fitness Exercises, Dance, and Team Sports.
  • Develop instructional materials, lesson plans, and assessments aligned with CHED and STI standards.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress through physical activities, participation, and written outputs.
  • Organize and supervise school sports activities, intramurals, and wellness initiatives.
  • Promote values of discipline, sportsmanship, cooperation, and health-conscious living.
  • Collaborate with academic units for interdisciplinary wellness or fitness programs.
II. Educational Qualifications
  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or BSEd major in MAPEH.
  • A Masters Degree in Physical Education or Education is an advantage.
  • Licensed Professional Teacher (LPT) preferred.
III. Experience Level
  • Preferably with 13 years of teaching experience at the senior high school or tertiary level.
  • Experience in coaching, training, sports events organization, or wellness programs is a strong advantage.
V. Skills and Competencies
  • Knowledgeable in human anatomy, kinesiology, and fitness programming.
  • Demonstrated skills in coaching, officiating, and conducting fitness assessments.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • Able to adapt activities to suit students with varied abilities and interests.
  • First Aid and Basic Life Support certification is a plus.
VI. Working Conditions
  • Teaching schedule includes classroom and field-based instruction.
  • May require physical activity, outdoor teaching, or weekend involvement for events.
  • Expected to support school-wide wellness and co-curricular initiatives.
