Compensation and Benefits is responsible for ensuring the timely submission of all government-mandated contributions and guides and coaches the HR Assistant for Compensation and Benefits. Ensures that all company-initiated benefits are processed promptly.
Key Responsibilities
1. Compensation Administration
- Prepares and processes payroll in coordination with Accounting and Timekeeping departments.
- Ensures accuracy and timeliness of salary computation, overtime pay, allowances, and other monetary benefits.
- Implements government-mandated wage orders, salary adjustments, and other compensation changes.
- Conducts regular salary benchmarking and internal equity analysis specific to construction positions (e.g., engineers, foremen, project staff, site workers).
- Assists in the design and implementation of pay structures, job grading, and salary scales aligned with company policies.
2. Benefits Management
- Administers statutory benefits (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, and BIR) and ensures accurate and timely remittance.
- Handles enrollment, updates, and claims processing for company-sponsored benefits such as health insurance, group life insurance, or accident coverage.
- Monitors and administers leave benefits, service incentives, and other non-cash benefits.
- Coordinates with third-party providers for HMO, uniforms, shuttle services, and other employee benefits.
- Conducts periodic evaluation of benefit programs to ensure competitiveness and compliance.
3. Compliance and Reporting
- Ensures compliance with labor laws and government regulations (DOLE, BIR, etc.).
- Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual reports related to payroll, benefits, and statutory remittances.
- Supports audit requirements and maintains complete and accurate payroll and benefits records.
4. Employee Relations Support
- Addresses compensation- and benefits-related queries and concerns from employees and site personnel.
- Provides orientation to new hires regarding pay, deductions, and benefits entitlements.
- Educates employees on compensation policies and procedures to promote understanding and transparency.
5. Policy and Process Improvement
- Reviews and updates compensation and benefits policies in coordination with HR Management.
- Recommends process improvements for payroll efficiency and data accuracy.
- Utilizes payroll systems to automate reports and improve data management.
6. Support to HR and Management
- Provides compensation data and analysis to support manpower planning, budgeting, and retention programs.
- Assists in the preparation of annual HR budget for salaries and benefits.
- Coordinates with Project HR to consolidate payroll and attendance reports from various project sites.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors degree in Human Resource Management or any related field.
- At least 13 years of experience in Compensation and Benefits, preferably in the construction or engineering industry.
- Strong knowledge of Philippine labor laws and statutory benefits.
- Proficient in payroll systems and MS Excel.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and discreet with confidential information.
