JOB OVERVIEW
The position is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and recommending investment
instruments and outlets to the companys Board Investment Committee in accordance with the investment risk appetite and standard requirements stated in the approved Investment Manual. The position also requires evaluating and matching investments and plan maturities to maximize the volume and growth of invested funds.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Investment Management:
A. Risk Assessment
1. Evaluates various types of risk associated with potential investments.
2. Seeks an optimal balance between risk and return.
3. Explores investment alternatives and recommends those that meet criteria for sound investment.
4. Analyzes cash flow requirements to identify areas of investment opportunities and limitations.
5. Monitors the movement of interest rates or the economy in general.
6. Conducts regular reviews of the investment portfolio and makes necessary adjustments in risk exposure if necessary.
7. Serve as a resource person to FBD investment-related activities and to provide financial wellness guidance to the fraternal benefit managers and salesforce.
B. Financial Dealer Relationship
1. Initiates contact with dealers to identify potential investment opportunities and trends
2. Remains abreast of market developments to understand trends that could influence dealers and their businesses.
3. Explores innovative avenues for collaboration with dealers, extending beyond conventional transactions.
C. Financial Dealer Relationship
1. Provides recommendations for short-term money market placements and stocks suitable for trading opportunities.
2. Provides recommendations on strategies aimed at maximizing returns on equity, debt, and government securities investments
3. Offers guidance on the appropriate allocation of funds for placement across various financial institutions.
4. Offers strategic recommendations for investment and divestment proposals.
5. Implements all functions inherent to the position within policies and guidelines.
D. Investment Monitoring and Evaluation
1. Guarantees the effective collection of interests and proceeds.
2. Evaluates the purchase and/or sale of equity, debt, and government securities held and identifies options that offer the best balance of safety, yield, and liquidity within statutory limits.
3. Reviews the investment reports and records generated by department personnel, reflecting accurately on transactions executed.
4. Reviews Trust Accounts reports and prepares investment recommendations.
5. Strategizes the matching of investment mix to meet the future contractual obligations of the Association.
6. Conducts quarterly review on the credit standing of the companies covered by the investment portfolio of the Association.
E. Develop and Grow Investment Portfolio and Yields
1. Grows the investment funds of the Association by a minimum of 5bps per year.
2. Delivers an average investment yield by a minimum of 10 bps above the year-end average 1 year BVAL rate.
3. Develop an investment desirable portfolio mix to preserve the investment funds of the association while maximizing the investment yields.
2. Budget Management
1. Gathers pertinent economic indicators for the formulation of investment targets.
2. Develops comprehensive plans, programs, and budgets for the department.
3. Efficiently manage the operational costs of the Department.
3. Document Management
1. Ensures the submission and/or proper safekeeping of all necessary documents in strict adherence to established procedures.
2. Ensures accurate and timely submission of reports to the Associations regulators, such as the Insurance Commission, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, and others.
3. Represent the Department on the yearly audit conducted by the Insurance Commission and the External Auditor.
4. People Management
1. Manages performance plans, conducts performance monitoring, discusses performance evaluations of all direct reports, and provides input on the performance of others in the team.
2. Lays out Individual Development Plans (IDP) of all direct reports and reviews IDPs of the team.
3. Ensures compliance of all team members with all the company policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors Degree in Management, Business, Finance, or Accounting.
With at least three years of Investment or Banking Operations experience.
Familiar with investment jargon and instruments.
Provides inputs and in-depth analyses on short-term and long-term investment
opportunities.
Conducts thorough reviews and reconciliation of investment reports.
MUST-HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS:
Has good interpersonal and communication skills
Has good internal and external customer orientation skills
Detail-oriented
Computer-literate at an intermediate level in Microsoft Office
