Cost Engineer, Muntinlupa

A Cost Engineer manages, monitors, and controls all financial aspects of engineering and construction projects, from budgeting and estimating to cost forecasting and reporting. They work closely with project teams to analyze resource requirements (labor, materials, equipment), ensure adherence to budgets, and identify cost-saving opportunities to maximize profitability. 

Key Responsibilities

• Cost Estimating & Budgeting: Develop detailed, comprehensive cost estimates and project budgets based on specifications, plans, and Scope of Work.
• Cost Control & Monitoring: Track actual costs against approved budgets throughout the project lifecycle to prevent cost overruns.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, weekly, or daily cost reports, including cash flow projections, earned value analysis, and variance analysis.
• Change Management: Review, analyze, and process change orders, assessing their impact on the project budget and timeline.
• Forecasting: Project future costs (Cost to Complete) and analyze financial trends.
• Procurement Support: Verify invoices, supplier payments, and subcontractor claims, validating them against work-in-place.
• Risk Analysis: Identify potential cost-related risks and develop mitigation strategies. 

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Education: Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: 1-2 years in project controls, estimating, or cost management, often within construction, manufacturing, or oil & gas.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in cost management software
• Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze complex data, interpret contracts, and understand project technical plans.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills for reporting to stakeholders and management.
