Description
Responsibilities
- Review and ensure accuracy of tax returns (income tax, VAT, withholding tax, percentage tax, etc.)
- Ensure timely filing and payment of all taxes with the BIR and local government units
- Interpret and apply tax laws, BIR rulings, and regulations
- Handle tax compliance for multiple clients or business units
- Oversee tax computations, schedules, and supporting documents
- Supervise, coach, and review work of tax associates / analysts
- Assign tasks, monitor workloads, and ensure deadlines are met
- Conduct quality review before submission to clients or authorities
- Train staff on tax updates, processes, and best practices
- Assist in tax planning to legally minimize tax exposure
- Identify tax risks and recommend compliance or optimization strategies
- Support management or clients in tax-related decisions
- Prepare and represent the company/client during BIR audits, assessments, and investigations
- Draft protest letters, replies, and position papers
- Coordinate with external auditors, lawyers, and government agencies
- Ensure proper resolution of tax issues and assessments
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies
- Maintain organized tax files and documentation
- Monitor changes in tax laws and communicate updates to the team or clients
- Prepare tax reports, summaries, and reconciliations
- Provide tax insights to management or partners
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting of tax expenses
- College Graduate of Accountancy, finance or any related field
- ACCOUNTING FIRM EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED
- at leas 2 years experience as Tax Supervisor
