The Heavy Equipment Operator is primarily responsible for the operations and upkeep of heavy equipment used to mount/dismount/stage container vans and/or cargoes.
Key Result Areas/ Duties & Responsibilities:
HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATIONS
- Receives instructions/PAYA from checker or Operations Manager on which containers to lift, move or transfer and where to place them.
- Operates safely Heavy Equipment to lift, move transfer, mount, dismount and stage all loaded or empty container vans within CY terminal and/or Port Area in an orderly manner.
- Stacks container vans properly.
- Follows Equipment Productivity Plan.
EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE AND UPKEEP
- Inspects equipment condition based on checklist prior to start of shift.
- Cleans assigned heavy equipment regularly.
- Informs Operations Manager on any equipment for repair.
ACCIDENT/INCIDENT REPORT
- Informs Operations Manager and guard on duty of any accident/incident.
- Gives details about the accidents/incident to the guard-on-duty and/or operations manager.
- Signs the Incident and Damage Report that was prepared by the Guard-on-duty or operations manager.
