Job Title: Accounting Manager
Reports To: Chief Financial Officer / Finance Director
Job Summary:
The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the companys accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with statutory requirements, and effective internal controls. This role manages the accounting team, coordinates audits, and supports management in strategic financial decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Management & Reporting
- Oversee the preparation of timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS) and BIR regulations.
- Monitor general ledger accounts, reconcile balances, and correct discrepancies.
2. Budgeting & Forecasting
- Assist in budget preparation, financial forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Provide management with insights on financial performance and cost control.
3. Compliance & Audit
- Ensure compliance with government reporting requirements (BIR, SEC, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG).
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors during financial and tax audits.
4. Internal Controls
- Develop and implement internal control policies and procedures.
- Review and approve accounting transactions, journal entries, and payment vouchers.
5. Team Management
- Supervise, train, and mentor accounting staff.
- Delegate tasks effectively to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
6. Other Duties
- Manage cash flow and treasury functions.
- Liaise with banks, suppliers, and other stakeholders on financial matters.
- Bachelors degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field.
- CPA license preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of Philippine tax laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar) and MS Office.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
