The Merchandiser / Meat Cutter Chicken is responsible for proper cutting, preparation, display, and merchandising of fresh chicken products. The role ensures product quality, food safety compliance, attractive presentation, and excellent customer service to support sales and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Meat Cutting & Preparation:
- Cut, portion, debone, and prepare chicken products according to company standards.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and labeling of fresh and frozen chicken.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of cutting tools, equipment, and work areas.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and HACCP guidelines at all times.
Merchandising & Display:
- Arrange and replenish chicken products in display counters and chillers.
- Ensure products are properly priced, labeled, and within shelf-life standards.
- Monitor product freshness and remove expired or damaged items promptly.
- Maintain attractive and organized product displays to boost sales.
Inventory & Stock Control:
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages or overstock.
- Assist in receiving deliveries and checking product quality and quantity.
- Minimize waste through proper handling and stock rotation (FIFO).
Customer Service:
- Assist customers with product inquiries and special cutting requests.
- Provide basic product knowledge and cooking suggestions when needed.
- Maintain a professional and courteous attitude toward customers.
Compliance & Safety:
- Follow company policies, food safety regulations, and health standards.
- Properly use PPE and maintain personal hygiene.
- Report equipment issues, safety hazards, or quality concerns to the supervisor.
