Job Summary:

The Information Admitting Clerk is responsible for assisting patients during admission procedures, verifying patient information, preparing admission documents, and ensuring accurate recording of patient data. The position serves as the frontline support for patients and coordinates with different hospital departments to facilitate efficient admission and discharge processes.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist patients and relatives with hospital admission procedures.
  • Receive and verify patient information, identification, and required documents.
  • Prepare and process admission forms, billing endorsements, and related records.
  • Encode and update patient information in the hospital information system.
  • Coordinate with nursing units, doctors, billing section, and other departments regarding patient admissions.
  • Answer inquiries regarding room availability, admission requirements, and hospital policies.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
  • Assist in discharge processing and related documentation when assigned.
  • Monitor daily admission census and prepare reports as required.
  • Ensure proper filing and safekeeping of admission documents.
  • Provide courteous and professional assistance to patients and visitors.
  • Perform other related duties assigned by the supervisor.


Qualifications:

  • Graduate of any Business, Office Administration, Healthcare-related, or other relevant course.
  • Preferably with experience in hospital admitting, customer service, or clerical work.
  • Knowledge of basic hospital admission procedures is an advantage.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and hospital information systems.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle patients professionally.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Willing to work on shifting schedules, weekends, and holidays if needed.
