Job Summary
We are looking for a technically strong and solution-oriented Data Engineer to support the integration, transformation, and operationalization of data from on-premise systems into our broader analytics environment. This role will focus on enterprise source systems, legacy databases, and operational reporting structures, with Oracle ERP knowledge considered a strong advantage.
This position is critical in helping bridge traditional enterprise systems and modern reporting needs, ensuring that data is extracted, transformed, validated, and delivered accurately and efficiently. You will work closely with business stakeholders, Analytics Engineers, MIS, and ERP-focused teams to improve the reliability, usability, and scalability of core operational
data.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain data extraction and transformation processes from on-premise systems, databases, and enterprise applications.
- Build and manage reliable ETL/ELT pipelines that move data from operational systems into centralized reporting and analytics environments.
- Work closely with teams supporting Oracle ERP and other enterprise applications to understand source structures, business logic, and reporting dependencies.
- Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and transformation logic for data processing, reconciliation, and validation.
- Support the integration of legacy and on-premise systems into the broader enterprise data architecture.
- Collaborate with Analytics Engineers to ensure source-aligned, scalable, and future-proof data models.
- Investigate data discrepancies, reconcile mismatches, and troubleshoot issues related to extraction, transformation, and reporting outputs.
- Maintain clear technical documentation covering source mappings, transformation logic, interfaces, and operational procedures.
- Contribute to data quality and governance efforts by helping define control points, validation checks, and reconciliation standards.
Skills / Competencies
- Strong SQL skills, including joins, aggregations, stored procedures, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT development across on-premise or hybrid environments.
- Experience working with enterprise source systems, operational databases, and legacy application environments.
- Good understanding of data structures, interface design, and transformation logic.
- Familiarity with Oracle ERP / Oracle EBS / Oracle databases / PL/SQL is a strong advantage.
- Ability to trace business processes back to source systems and understand how data should be transformed for reporting and analytics.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work across technical and business teams.
- Comfortable working in environments where documentation, reverse engineering, and system understanding are as important as coding.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering, ETL development, system integration, or enterprise reporting environments.
- Strong working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Experience with on-premise systems, ERP integrations, or enterprise data interfaces.
- Experience with Oracle ERP, Oracle databases, PL/SQL, or related enterprise technologies is a strong plus.
- Experience in retail, finance, supply chain, or other operationally intensive industries is advantageous.
