Description

The Business Development Officer is responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities through field visits, client meetings, networking activities, and market research. The role focuses on generating leads, building relationships with prospective clients, and promoting the company's geotechnical engineering and laboratory testing services to achieve revenue and growth targets.


Key Responsibilities

Business Development and Client Acquisition

  • Conduct field visits to prospective clients, project sites, government agencies, contractors, developers, consultants, and other target markets.
  • Identify and generate new business leads through networking, referrals, cold calling, and market research.
  • Schedule and conduct client meetings and presentations to introduce company services.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients.
  • Gather client requirements and coordinate with the technical team for proposal preparation.

Marketing and Promotion

  • Promote the company's services through direct client engagement and industry networking.
  • Distribute company profiles, brochures, and marketing materials to prospective clients.
  • Represent the company during business meetings, conferences, trade events, and industry activities.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities.

Sales Support

  • Assist in preparing quotations, proposals, and bid documents.
  • Follow up on submitted proposals and client inquiries.
  • Maintain an updated database of leads, prospects, and client interactions.
  • Provide regular reports on field activities, lead generation efforts, and business opportunities.

Relationship Management

  • Maintain regular communication with clients to strengthen partnerships.
  • Address client concerns and coordinate with internal departments to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Support account management initiatives to encourage repeat business.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience in sales, marketing, business development, or client relations is an advantage.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Willing to conduct fieldwork and travel for client visits.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
