Description

Responsible for acquiring goods and services, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring cost-effective and timely procurement. Key duties include researching vendors, negotiating prices, processing purchase orders, tracking deliveries, and maintaining accurate records to ensure the company has the necessary materials while managing costs. This role supports the purchasing manager and internal departments by keeping inventory stocked and ensuring purchases align with company policies. 


Key Responsibilities

  • Procurement and sourcing: Research and evaluate potential vendors and suppliers, request quotes, and compare prices to find the best value.
  • Order management: Create, issue, and track purchase orders, ensuring all details are accurate and that orders are delivered on time.
  • Supplier relations: Build and maintain relationships with vendors, negotiate contracts and terms, and resolve any issues that arise with suppliers.
  • Inventory and quality control: Monitor stock levels, inspect incoming products for quality, and coordinate with warehouse staff for proper storage and handling.
  • Record keeping and reporting: Maintain accurate records of all purchases, invoices, and contracts. Prepare reports on costs, inventory, and supplier performance.
  • Compliance: Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Collaboration: Work with other departments to understand their purchasing needs and coordinate with the purchasing manager to develop purchasing plans.
