Mechanical Design Detailer, Davao del Sur

• Graduate of Mechanical Engineering course.
• At least 12 years experience in drafting, detailing, or design within a manufacturing or fabrication company.
• Proficient in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, or equivalent).
• Knowledgeable in metal fabrication processes (cutting, welding, machining, bending, assembly).
• Ability to prepare detailed shop drawings, assembly drawings, and bill of materials (BOMs).
• Understanding of engineering standards, tolerances, and material specifications.
• Experience in sheet metal, or mechanical detailing is preferred.
• Fresh graduates with strong technical skills may also be considered.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drawings.
• Ability to interpret and apply technical specifications and project requirements.
• Capable of identifying design issues and proposing workable solutions.
• Good communication and coordination skills (with engineers, production staff, and suppliers).
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Team player with a proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Knowledge of safety standards and quality control principles in manufacturing.
• Familiarity with project documentation and revision control.
• Flexible to do site visits or field coordination when needed.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed 2D and 3D designs, models, and drawings for metal products, parts, and assemblies.
• Ensure designs meet client requirements, engineering standards, and production feasibility.
• Prepare and update technical drawings, layouts, and schematics for fabrication.
• Work closely with engineers, production planners, and fabricators to translate concepts into practical designs.
• Provide technical support to shop floor teams regarding drawings and design clarifications.
• Coordinate with purchasing or suppliers for material specifications and compatibility.
• Conduct simulations, stress tests, or tolerance analysis to ensure product quality and durability.
• Review and revise designs to improve manufacturability, reduce cost, and optimize material usage.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and industry standards.
• Maintain design records, revision histories, and drawing archives.
• Ensure proper version control of drawings and documents released to production.
• Prepare bill of materials (BOM) and design documentation for each project.
• Assist in project planning by providing accurate design inputs and timelines.
• Support prototyping, testing, and evaluation of new designs.
• Participate in client meetings to present design solutions and adjustments.
• Research new design methods, tools, and fabrication techniques.
• Suggest improvements in design processes to increase efficiency and product quality.
• Adapt designs to integrate new technologies (e.g., CNC machining, laser cutting, robotic welding).
