A Barista is responsible for preparing and serving coffee beverages, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring that the coffee shop or caf operates smoothly.

Education:

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Experience:

• Previous experience in customer service or food and beverage roles is preferred, especially in a caf or restaurant setting. However, on-the-job training is often provided.

Skills:

• Customer Service Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with customers, take orders, and provide excellent service.
• Coffee Knowledge: Understanding of coffee types, espresso-based drinks, and brewing techniques. Passion for coffee and willingness to learn about different varieties and preparation methods.
• Multitasking: Ability to handle multiple orders at once, manage high volumes of customers, and work efficiently during busy periods.
• Attention to Detail: Ensuring drinks are made to order, following recipes, and maintaining consistency in taste and presentation.
• Basic Math Skills: Ability to handle cash transactions, provide change, and manage tips.

Physical Stamina:

• Ability to stand for long periods, move quickly, and lift moderate weights (e.g., bags of coffee beans or milk cartons).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, sometimes physically demanding environment.
