Description

Operation and Maintenance of Liquid Cargo Systems: Oversee and maintain equipment such as liquid cargo transfer pumps, stripping pumps, coalescers, separators, strainers, filters, and associated piping, valves, and fittings.
Routine Maintenance and Repairs: Perform regular maintenance tasks, including correcting leaks, packing valves, greasing fittings, glands, bearings, and reach rods. Be proficient in overhauling, repairing, and rebuilding valves, pumps, reach rods, packing glands, and stuffing tubes.
Safety and Emergency Preparedness: Participate in shipboard engineering casualty drills, fire drills, and collision drills. Demonstrate the ability to perform assigned duties safely and efficiently, taking initiative during emergencies without specific orders.
Adherence to Safety Policies: Have comprehensive knowledge of safety policies and practices, including handling flammable/dangerous liquids, confined space entry procedures, and the ship's Lockout/Tag-out program.
Additional Duties: Assist with other tasks as assigned by senior officers, which may include maintaining connection manifolds, cargo lines, room heating systems, ballast systems, and other engine department duties.
