A janitor is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in buildings, such as offices, schools, hospitals, or other facilities. Their duties include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming floors, emptying trash bins, cleaning restrooms, replenishing supplies, and ensuring that all areas are sanitary and presentable. Janitors may also be required to perform minor maintenance tasks, like changing light bulbs or repairing equipment, and ensure safety protocols are followed, such as placing warning signs when floors are wet. They may also be responsible for securing the premises at the end of shifts, locking doors, and reporting any hazards or maintenance needs to supervisors.
