Java Developer (with Kotlin), Cebu

Summary

We are looking for a skilled Backend Developer to maintain and enhance an existing application. The role involves troubleshooting production issues, implementing new features, performing system upgrades, and ensuring high code quality through testing and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and support the existing system developed in Kotlin, including understanding current architecture and application flow
• Collaborate with Business Analysts (BA) to troubleshoot and resolve production defects
• Perform library upgrades and implement security fixes for identified vulnerabilities
• Design and develop new backend features based on functional requirements
• Conduct thorough unit testing to ensure code quality, stability, and reliability
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development practices

Required Skills

• Must have 3+ years of experience in Java
• Must have 2+ years of experience in Kotlin
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin backend development, with solid experience in frameworks such as Spring Boot and Spring Data
• Proficiency in Java backend development, including Spring Boot and Spring Batch
• Hands-on experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL

Good to Have Skills

• Experience with React.js for frontend development
• Additional experience in Java development is a strong advantage
• Experience in developing and maintaining Android applications is a plus
