This is a hands-on technical role inside an AI-native SaaS company building real-world automation software for businesses.You will not just be maintaining old systems. We are building production software for actual customers who rely on it to manage calls, leads, appointments, follow-ups, and customer communication.We are looking for a backend developer who wants to help build the infrastructure behind that.

LeadAI is an AI-powered phone and workflow automation platform for businesses.Our platform helps companies handle inbound calls, outbound follow-ups, appointment booking, CRM updates, lead qualification, customer communication, and sales/admin workflows using AI voice agents and automation.We are building a serious SaaS product, not a simple website or landing page. The backend needs to support real users, live calls, CRM integrations, usage tracking, billing, reporting, multi-tenant data structures, and scalable infrastructure.We are looking for a backend developer who can help build, improve, and scale the core systems behind the platform.

We are hiring a Backend Developer to work on the server-side architecture, database structure, API logic, integrations, automation workflows, and performance of our AI SaaS platform.You will work closely with the frontend team, product team, and other developers to build reliable backend systems that support real-time communication, CRM automation, billing, user management, reporting, and business workflows.This role suits someone who is technical, practical, and comfortable working in a fast-moving startup environment where speed matters, but structure and reliability still matter.

• Build and maintain backend services for a SaaS application.
• Develop clean, secure, and scalable APIs.
• Create backend logic for users, organisations, permissions, plans, credits, calls, contacts, workflows, and reporting.
• Build systems that support multi-tenant client accounts.
• Improve backend performance, reliability, and structure.
• Debug backend issues and fix production problems quickly.

• Design and improve database schemas.
• Work with PostgreSQL and structured relational databases.
• Build efficient queries, views, functions, and database relationships.
• Improve database performance and reduce slow queries.
• Maintain strong data separation between tenants/clients.
• Support reporting and analytics data structures.

• Connect the platform with external APIs and SaaS tools.
• Build integrations for CRMs, calendars, communication tools, billing systems, and automation workflows.
• Handle webhooks, API authentication, payload mapping, retries, and error handling.
• Create clean integration logic that can scale across multiple clients.
• Document API flows clearly for the team.

• Support backend workflows connected to AI call handling, transcripts, summaries, outcomes, and CRM updates.
• Build logic that processes call results and triggers follow-up actions.
• Help structure backend systems for appointment booking, lead qualification, and task automation.
• Work with AI-generated data and ensure it is stored, processed, and displayed correctly.

• Support deployment workflows using modern cloud tools.
• Help improve backend monitoring, logging, and error tracking.
• Identify bottlenecks in the backend, database, and API layer.
• Contribute to better development standards, code structure, and release processes.
• Help the team move quickly without creating messy or fragile systems.

Experience with all of these is not required, but strong backend fundamentals are required.

• Strong backend development experience.

• Good understanding of SaaS application structure.
