A hair stylist's job is to cut, style, and color hair to meet a client's needs, while also providing hair care services and customer service.

Responsibilities:

• Consult with clients: Understand the client's hair texture, facial features, and style preferences
• Cut and style hair: Shampoo, trim, layer, texturize, bleach, and style hair
• Color hair: Apply highlights, ombre, and balayage
• Provide hair care: Offer scalp treatments, recommend products, and sell retail products
• Maintain tools and station: Keep tools clean and sanitized, and ensure the station is clean
• Stay current: Keep up with trends and popular hairstyles, and learn about new hair care products
• Build relationships: Develop relationships with clients to ensure they return for more appointments
• Follow policies: Adhere to salon policies and procedures
