- Loading and unloading: Move materials onto and off of vehicles like trucks, rail cars, and cargo ships
- Stacking: Stack crates, pallets, lumber, and other materials
- Maintaining: Perform equipment checks and basic maintenance, and determine when repairs are needed
- Safety: Follow safety regulations and company guidelines, and communicate with other employees
- Quality assurance: Report product damage and shortages, and weigh and record product weights
- Inventory: Maintain inventory, and track fulfillment of customer and vendor orders
- Documentation: Produce activity logs, and check trucking manifests and bills of lading
