Legal Officer, Makati

This role is ideal for Juris Doctor graduates seeking corporate legal experience prior to taking the Bar.

The Legal Officer is responsible for providing legal and compliance support to the organization, with a focus on government permitting, regulatory compliance, contract management, and corporate documentation. The role ensures that all licenses and permits are valid and that the company complies with applicable Philippine laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Permitting and Licensing

• Process and monitor applications, renewals, and compliance for company permits and registrations
• Coordinate with LGUs for Mayors Permits, Barangay Clearances, and related requirements
• Liaise with government agencies such as BIR, SEC, and DOLE
• Maintain a tracking system for permit validity and deadlines

Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
• Monitor regulatory updates affecting operations
• Assist in developing and implementing compliance policies

Contracts and Legal Documentation

• Draft, review, and manage contracts and agreements
• Maintain proper filing of legal documents
• Coordinate with external legal counsel when needed

Corporate Documentation

• Prepare corporate documents (e.g., board resolutions, certifications)
• Maintain organized corporate and regulatory records

Legal Research

• Conduct research on corporate, labor, and commercial laws
• Prepare legal reports and summaries for management

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree (required)
• Bar passer is an advantage but not required
• At least 13 years of experience in legal support, compliance, or permitting
• Familiarity with Philippine regulatory processes and agencies
