Junior Civil Engineer, Makati

Engineering & Construction Support

• Assist in planning, design, and supervision of landfill infrastructure (cell development, roadways, drainage, slope protection, leachate & gas collection systems).
• Conduct field inspections and surveys to ensure quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Aid in AutoCAD drafting, as-built drawings, and work documentation.
• Oversee contractors, materials, and equipment quality.

Operational Responsibilities

• Support daily landfill operations including waste tipping, compaction, cover application, and traffic flow management.
• Monitor landfill cells capacity, elevation, slope stability, and settlement.
• Assist with cell sequencing, cover material use, and road network upkeep within landfill and access roads.
• Coordinate with Weighbridge, LTP, and Safety Officers to ensure smooth workflow.
• Ensure safe, efficient operation of heavy equipment such as bulldozers, compactors, excavators, and trucks.
• Implement best practices to maximize landfill space and lifespan.
• Support environmental monitoring including leachate levels, gas vent maintenance, and drainage performance.
• Participate in audits, inspections, and third-party evaluations.

Team Supervision & Training

• Supervise and coordinate landfill operators, drivers, and maintenance staff.
• Conduct safety, waste handling, and operational training.
• Enforce workplace safety, PPE use, and emergency protocols.

Equipment & Infrastructure Maintenance

• Ensure maintenance of heavy equipment to reduce downtime.
• Coordinate repairs and parts procurement with maintenance team.
• Monitor road conditions, drainage, and landfill infrastructure.

• Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Licensed Civil Engineer.
• 35 years experience in design or supervision of building, infrastructure, waste management, or environmental services.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and project management tools.
• Knowledge of landfill construction, geotechnical principles, or environmental engineering is a plus.
• Willingness to work full-time onsite in physically demanding outdoor conditions at FEC Sanitary Landfill, Pampanga.
